Why don't some stores take coupons you print on your computer? My grocery store, Demulas Market Basket doesn't take them.

Thank you for making us aware that your local grocery store does not accept any coupons printed from the Internet. We are sorry for the inconvenience you are facing. Unfortunately, during the last few months, a few consumers started copying and reselling manufacturer coupons through auction sites and through email. Most of the coupons were originally manufacturer-issued coupons for free products, and so this had a really negative financial impact on a number of retailers. Although no Valpak coupons were involved, several retailers decided they needed to put a ban on all Internet coupons until the situation was resolved. The outbreak is now in the past and many of the affected retailers are starting to accept Internet coupons. Their only stipulations are that they won't accept coupons for free products printed from a home computer and that they won't redeem multiple copies of a single Internet coupon during consumer shopping trips. There are a dozen grocery-store chains that have announced corporate policies not to accept Internet coupons.
There are a few things you can do to help:
Continue to let the customer service department of your local retailer know that your weekly shopping and spending is negatively affected due to their policy not to accept valid Internet grocery coupons. They do care about your satisfaction and may revise their policies based on genuine customer feedback. Also, never buy, sell or trade grocery coupons on auction sites or through email, and please don't photocopy or alter your coupons in any way.
