Pets make great companions and can be a huge stress relief. Their care, however, can become expensive. Some simple ways to cut back on pet expenses are:
- Go online! Online pet stores can save you anywhere from 10%-50% depending on what you are shopping for. Not sure where to look? Check out Planet Pets and Pet Market to start.
- Compare Brands! You'll be surprised to find that store brand pet foods generally have the exact same ingredients as brand names pet foods, but can be as much as half the price.
- See the vet! Yearly vet visits can be pricey, however it's cheaper than paying for medications and shots if your pet gets sick.
- Humane Society! In most areas the humane society or animal control has annual or bi-annual pet vaccinations for a severely reduced cost.
- Pet Stores! Many times pet stores will have an in-house groomer that is much cheaper than taking your pet to a private groomer.
- Look for coupons! You can find coupons for anything from pet food, to pet toys, to veterinarians.
